I've just been accepted on a University course without having had an interview. Is this normal?

I have recieved a letter stating that I have been offered a place on the course at Uni that I want to attend, and I'm really chuffed to bits, however I thought you had an interview before they offered you a place ?! I'm a mature student, so if someone could shed light on this that would be fab. The course is Arts and Humanities. Does some courses not require an interview ? Many thanks for any replies.
