For my daughter's Halloween costumes...?

So I've decided to reuse last year's costumes in hopes of saving a little money. They both don't want to be fairy pixies this year, they want to be something more gory...vampires, witches etc. So I told them they could wear their pixie costumes but I would make their faces bloody and scary with make-up and they could go as dead pixies instead. What are some cool make-up ideas, accessories, hair tips I could do? I am going as far as ruining their costumes a bit with fake blood etc. so any ideas will work. Suggestions please?
