I herd that now in 2007 even if your flying within the US + no matter how old u r, u need a pasport, that tru?

I'm sorry, but whoever told you that is stupid. To fly within the USA, all you need is a government-issued ID, like a driver license, state ID, or pport. You will need a pport if you leave the USA, even if it's just to Canada, Mexico, or islands in the Carribean. The only destinations that won't require a pport are US territories, like Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and so on.
